As you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. As you floss, use a product you prefer. As you rinse, use a mouthwash that contains fluoride or antibacterial substances.
· Take care of your smile: The best ways to take care of your smile are to refrain from smoking, avoid eating sugary and starchy foods, wear a mouthguard while you are active, and keep from piercing any part of your mouth.
· Visit your dentist: It is vital that you visit your dentist every six months. During these appointments, our dental team will professionally clean your smile and will examine your entire oral cavity for issues. This is the best way to prevent as many dental problems as possible.
· Take care of your braces: If you are currently aligning your smile with braces, please take care of your appliance as much as possible. Brush and floss your teeth after each meal and snack and avoid participating in habits that can break your brackets and wires.
